PETS OVER POLITICS
As a fun part of this campaign, we will be featuring pets we encounter along the way, particularly Quendy's two spoiled rotten dogs, Max & Gracie along with a silver rubber chicken (Chicken Little) that hitched a ride back down south with Quendy while in New York City. We also want to highlight Rescue pets and the people and organizations that care for and try to find homes for them.
To kick off 2026, we held a Facebook contest to choose some more pet representatives. The winners will receive some "Quendy Campaign Swag" and will be featured here. ALL of the contestants are winners in our book because they have the best owners who love and pamper them!
Best Dog
In a hard fought three round race, we ended with Earl and Dixie neck and neck. We decided to have co-winners representing the dogs.
Earl is a 9 month old Brittany who lives in Bedford, Indiana with his family. He loves to help with dishes by licking them before they go in the dishwasher, and he is an avid ice chaser. He jumps on a piece of ice, shoots it across the floor, and chases it. Earl also loves to hunt birds with his older stepbrother Odie, and honors every point.
Best Dog
Dixie is Border Collie & Australian Shepherd mix, and her birthday is February 24, 2021. She is super smart and also super spoiled. Her favorite snacks are Pringles and veggie straws. Her favorite pastimes are chasing squirrels, announcing when deliveries come to her house, and riding in the truck. True to her breed, she stares her owners down when it's bedtime, and herds them straight to bed where she has her own comfortable spot!
Best Cat
Brenda Kay ran away from her competition in both rounds of the Best Cat category. Her birthday is March 26, 2024. She came to her current happy home with the Walls' family after Tina Coker took in her mother. She is on a strict dining schedule that requires her meals be served promptly at 6:00am and 6:00pm. Brenda values prompt attention to all of her needs whether meals, her need to cuddle and sleep on your chest, or playing fetch. She is very excited about Quendy's campaign!
Best 'Other' Pet
It just seems fitting that Sweet Pea, a feisty 9 month old chicken who is a great egg layer, won the 'Other' category. Since Chicken Little came on board in November, chickens just seem to be popping up everywhere. Sweet Pea's favorite snacks are meal worms and green grapes. She never meets a stranger as long as they have a treat! She follows Kylie Minton around like a puppy and is obviously quite fond of Bart too.
Best Rescue Pet
Livy Rose is a 3 1/2 year old Doodle mix. She is incredibly smart and sweet. Her favorite pastimes include playing with her rope toys, tug & fetch, and randomly entertaining others by playing dead. She sits like a person on the couch and most likely believes she IS a person!
